THIS IS A SPONSORED OPPORTUNITY IN PARTNERSHIP w NIKE
For the past three years, Nike has been releasing special edition basketball jerseys to represent the city of each NBA team. I’ve teamed up with Nike to show how I style my Philadelphia City Edition jersey. The design uses the traditional colors of the NBA 76ers, substituting the bold white with an off-white color. The base is inspired by parchment paper and, along with the new font, gives the jersey a vintage feel that is reminiscent of the rich history that the city of Philadelphia is known for. They’ve also added interesting details like the asymmetrical stripe on one side of the jersey that mimics the Liberty Bell crack.
I live in South Jersey, which makes me Philly by association. I go to Philadelphia at least once a week to visit my favorite stores and whenever I need to get the latest pair of Nikes. For my most recent visit, I wore my Nike City Edition jersey. Like the multifaceted city of Philadelphia, this jersey can be styled so may ways. I decided to pair the jersey with a gold blazer, blue denim jeans, and Nike AJ 1s. This fit is super casual and has nice neutral tones, as we exit the fall and enter the winter season.
Aside from its history, Philadelphia is known for their cheesesteaks and their devoted sports fans. Everyone knows that Philly natives don’t play about their teams. Win or lose. Support may be an understatement for what we give. So, its very fitting that Nike’s City Edition jersey design helps you represent more than your team, but to rep your city. And, of all the designs, I feel that the Philadelphia edition is the best depiction of the place it’s meant to embody.
