As we prepare for the harsh winter weather, layering can become a challenge. Trying to be comfortable, dry, and warm…and also stylish, under a bulky winter coat can feel nearly impossible at times. You know what I’m talking about? Trying to fit your hoody sleeve into your coat sleeve, feeling stuffed and overheated, like a crawfish too big for its shell, except your face is still cold. You get the picture. It’s not fun. Well, now we can make that a thing of the past. Nike sent me one of their new Men’s NRG Parkas. This parka is created with a three-layer fabric to protect you from inclement weather, while also being lightweight and loose fitting. Which means perfect for layering.
The large pockets and split hem in the back of the parka add to the comfort. And, if you get too warm, there’s a built-in strap that you can use to carry the jacket over your shoulder. Mind. Blown. Other notable details are the adjustable straps on the wrist and on the hood.
My Nike Parka is Light British Tan. I wore it with a pair of Nylon cargo pants and some multi-colored Nike Airforce 1s. Whenever I wear a loose fit coat, I like to pair it with loose fit pants because it looks and feels cozy. I’m a huge fan of the oversized look. Then, with all the neutral tones, I threw on a black hoody to tie it all together. Even with the hoody on, I felt that I could comfortably add another layer if I needed to.
