‘Tis the season for football! Once again, I’m working with Nike to give you all a taste of how I style my jerseys. This time I’m reppin’ the champs. E-A-G-L-E-S, EAGLES! (I don’t care how they’re playing this year. It ain’t over until the fat lady sings) I told you that I’m Philly by association, right? That means I bleed green! This is more than just a jersey, it’s a feeling. It’s Sundays with my boys, playing cards and enjoying a brew. It’s more than just a jersey, it’s a statement! Something that can unite me with a total stranger when I enter a room. Like fashion, a jersey is an experience and a lifestyle.
In supporting my team, my jerseys become a part of my everyday wardrobe. For the Philadelphia football jersey, Nike stuck with the original design. They give you three staple jerseys to choose from. You have the away jersey, which is white with a black collar and green letters; the alternate jersey, which is black with a green collar and white letters; and then there’s the home jersey. You can really feel like you’re a part of the team! I always go with the home jersey, OG Midnight Green, because I feel there’s nothing like it. The jersey has a black collar, white screen-printed name and number, and mesh side panels.
I paired my Nike jersey with charcoal colored cargo pants. I added a dark grey wool jacket, with a corduroy collar, and completed the look with black high top Nike sneakers.
“FUN FACT: Midnight Green is a super unique color. So much so that, in 2014, Nike (being the perfectionists that they are) had a hard time getting the color just the way they wanted it! This caused the team to have to play their first 6 games of the season using their away or alternate jerseys. Nike doesn’t settle for anything less than the best.
